Album Info:The photos here are of a track crew replacing piece of track where the weld was only at about 30% of total required strength, as detected by an ultrasound track inspection vehicle. One end was bolted, while the previous weld was cut out and a new weld in a new piece of track was installed. The jointed section was due to the distance between welds.

Work Crew Gather
Title:  Work Crew Gather
Description:  The two work crews gather to work on the weld. They had been in location all day the previous day, but the dispatcher would not give them a clean window to work with, so the foreman placed a 10mph speed restriction on the track. Getting work time after the speed reduction was fairly easy.
